CAS number:119345-04-9
Molecular formula:C₂₄H₃₂O₇S₂Na₂
Product Alias:DOWFAX 2A1 Emulsifier、Sodium dodecyl diphenyl oxide disulfonate、Alkyldiphenyloxide Disulfonate
DOWFAX 2A1 Solution is a high-performance anionic surfactant with core advantages including resistance to strong acids and alkalis, resistance to oxidation/bleaching systems, high salt stability, and strong emulsifying and dispersing properties. It exhibits good synergy with nonionic/anionic surfactants and is widely used in emulsion polymerization, industrial cleaning, textile and papermaking, oil fields, and pesticides. It is primarily available as an industrial-grade 45% solution, suitable for harsh operating conditions and compliance requirements.
1. Emulsion Polymerization
Core Applications: Primary emulsifier for styrene-butadiene latex (SBR), nitrile-butadiene latex (NBR), styrene-acrylic/pure acrylic emulsions, and vinyl acetate/vinyl chloride copolymer emulsions. It precisely controls latex particle size (uniform and fine), improving emulsion stability and mechanical stability.
Suitable Applications: Pressure-sensitive adhesives, architectural coatings, textile sizing agents, adhesives, etc., enhancing water resistance/aging resistance and reducing the risk of demulsification.
2. Industrial Cleaning & Daily Chemicals
Acid and Alkali Resistant Cleaning Agents: Used as wetting agents, dispersants, and stabilizers in metal cleaning, PCB cleaning, and food processing equipment cleaning. Stabilizes in strong acid/alkali/bleaching systems, preventing redeposition of dirt.
Daily Chemicals & Public Facilities: Used in heavy-duty laundry detergents, industrial degreasers, and disinfectant cleaners. Stabilizes phenolic/chlorine-containing bactericides in formulations, improving cleaning efficiency.
3. Textile & Papermaking
Textile Auxiliaries: Penetrants and emulsifiers in fabric pretreatment (desizing/scouring/bleaching). Suitable for strong alkaline/high-temperature processes, improving dyeing evenness and bleaching uniformity, and reducing fiber damage.
Papermaking Applications: Stabilizers and dispersants in pulp bleaching, preventing bleach liquor decomposition, improving filler retention, and enhancing paper whiteness and strength.
4. Oilfield & Petroleum
Tertiary Oil Recovery: Oil displacement aids/wetting agents for high-salinity reservoirs, reducing oil-water interfacial tension and improving oil recovery; dispersants/filtration reducers for drilling/completion fluids, suitable for high-salinity formations;
Oil and Gas Processing: Sludge emulsifying and separating agents, surface tension reducers for acidizing and fracturing fluids, preventing water lock and improving flowback efficiency.
5. Agrochemicals
Pesticide Adjuvants: As emulsifiers, dispersants, and wetting agents in emulsifiable concentrates (EC), suspension concentrates (SC), and emulsions (EW), enhancing pesticide adhesion and penetration on foliar surfaces, resistant to hard water/high pH, and compliant with EPA 40 CFR 180.910 standards;
Fertilizer Enhancers: Dispersing and stabilizing agents for foliar fertilizers/water-soluble fertilizers, improving nutrient absorption efficiency.
6. Other Industrial Uses
Metalworking: Emulsifying stabilizer and wetting agent for cutting fluids/rust inhibitors, improving lubrication and rust prevention; suitable for high-salt/alkaline formulations.
Coatings and Inks: Dispersant and leveling agent for water-based coatings/inks, improving pigment dispersion and film smoothness.
Electroplating and Water Treatment: Brightener/leveling agent for electroplating solutions; dispersant in water treatment, preventing metal ion deposition and scaling.
